The Illusionist
An animation by Sylvain Chomet, the maker of the clasically animated film "The Triplets of Belleville". It could have any story whatsoever and I'd still watch it for his beautiful artistic style.
The Tempest
It's directed by Julie Taymor, who did an amazing job on "Titus". For now I'm reserving judgment on the fact that Russell Brand is in it.
The chronicles of Narnia: the voyage of the Dawn Treader
The third in a series, based on a favourite childhood series of books. Which reminds me that I need to watch the second movie, "Prince Caspian".
I love you Phillip Morris
The premise sounds potentially dreadful: Jim Carrey plays a con man who falls in love with his cellmate, Ewan McGregor. But it's from the writers of "Bad Santa", a hilarious movie in appalling bad taste that starred Billy Bob Thornton. So dreadful might be a good thing.
The King's Speech
The story of King George VI and his struggle to overcome his stutter. Which I want to see because I just finished Connie Willis' two-part novel set in WWII, which immersed me in so much period detail that I want more. And because Pride & Prejudice made me fall in love with Colin Firth.
127 Hours
The true story of the fellow who had to cut his own arm off to escape being trapped by a rock. I saw the trailer, and it looked like a much more dire situation than I had imagined (and how can that be possible?).
